Looking for Ferndale Runners (and bikers?)...

A friend and I are thinking about starting up a FERNDALE SUNSET RUN in short order. It would be an ALL-PACES RUN (which means that everybody starts at the same time, runs "out" 20 minutes, then returns. This allows people of different "paces" to start and end together.

We think the start/stop location will be Ferndale's Thrive Fitness (in the new Pioneer Station, near Sonic Drivein). And likely we will try running Thursday eves at 6 PM (a great warm up for the Saturday races!). However, we are looking for other ideas. If you want to be kept informed send me an
email. There are several possible routes we can take from the Thrive location (including Hovander Park, Labounty Road, and down the Ferndale River Road. All safe and beautiful runs....and flat!).

I started running in April of last year. I worked pretty hard at it (along with joining Ferndale's Thrive Fitness) and lost 30 pounds. I also completed in Ski to Sea (first time, downhill), 3 short triathlons year, a few 5ks, 10ks, and the Bellingham half marathon.

I run the 5k in about 23-24 minutes; a 10k in 52 minutes; the 1/2 marathon in 1 hour, 47 minutes.
So, you get the idea of my speed and level. Around 8-9 min mile pace. I don't mind a hill or two.

I AM LOOKING for a running partners (some fellows, or possibly "mixed") in the mornings, maybe 3 days each week. I have some time flexibility, but perhaps around 4:30 - 7:00 AM start, for an hour or less. I don't mind cold weather. 4-6 miles of running. Maybe some end of day running-- late afternoons. I enjoy running from my home (near Church and Thornton) to the Ferndale bridge and back ( about 5mi, running up Vista).

Would be nice to get something regular going so none of us has to be there each day.
Also, I recently purchased a Trek 2.0 bicycle and love to go out on 20-4- mile bike rides. Let me know if you have interest in biking. Longer runs Sat and Sun afternoons.
